Job Description

Every school morning begins at the front desk. A welcoming smile, a calm voice on the phone, and the ability to resolve minor issues before they escalate – this is where you come in. We are looking for a friendly and organised Part-Time School Administrator to help keep our school office running smoothly. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for students, parents, and staff, handling reception duties and managing data. By ensuring our systems and records are up to date, you will directly support teaching and learning in a community that takes pride in providing equal opportunities for all.

What You’ll Do

- Greet parents, students, and visitors warmly and professionally, serving as the first point of contact for our school. Respond promptly to phone calls and emails.

- Maintain the school information system (SIMS) and student records, including updating attendance registers, entering new student data, and ensuring all files are accurate and up to date.

- Provide administrative support through general office duties such as filing, photocopying, mail distribution, and managing correspondence. You may also prepare reports or letters, organise meetings and hospitality, and ensure all paperwork is accurate and confidential.

- Collaborate closely with teachers and senior leaders on scheduling, forms, and basic budgeting or orders. Assist with routine administrative tasks for school events, admissions, or trips as needed.

- Promote a safe environment by ensuring visitors sign in correctly and that all office procedures comply with our safeguarding policy.

Successful applicants will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check via the Disclosure and Barring Service. Our HR and Safeguarding team will be there to support you throughout the process.

But, I don’t want to register with a supply agency, why should I sign up with Milestone?

We get it. Supply agencies can’t always deliver exactly what you’re looking for, but that’s where we’re different…

We’re an education platform service who partner with schools and MATs to support their recruitment, training and wellbeing needs. It’s in our interest to secure you a role you’ll love, in a setting you’ll want to stay in, with a view to progressing your career. If that’s what you want!

Our HR and Safeguarding team consistently go the extra mile to complete your checks as quickly as possible - at no cost to you. To put so much hard work and valuable time into completing these checks and then NOT deliver the opportunities you are looking for…? Well, we’d go out of business pretty quickly!

How much does it cost and how much will I be paid?

Our services to you are completely free.

Costs will only incur if you require a new DBS or OSPC, but don't worry - we can still put you forward for interviews while the applications in process, so you won't miss out on all the exciting opportunities!

All roles are paid in line with Teachers Pay and Conditions, or are matched with each school’s salary guidelines for the role you undertake. We'll always negotiate the best possible pay rates that reflect your hard work, experience and qualifications.
