This role is ideal if you enjoy combining academic support with emotional guidance. As a Pastoral & Learning (PAL) Mentor in a Solihull primary school, you’ll work with pupils who need extra structure, encouragement, and reassurance to stay on track. Your role goes beyond lesson assistance—you’ll help pupils manage friendships, transitions, and confidence barriers that affect classroom focus. You’ll support KS1 and KS2 children through intervention groups, regulation routines, and wellbeing-led support. Working closely with teachers and pastoral leads, you’ll help pupils access learning without feeling overwhelmed. The school values proactive mentoring and early intervention, so you’ll have the freedom to build rapport and take initiative. If you're passionate about unlocking confidence and helping children feel secure in school, this role provides variety, purpose, and progression.
