Job Description
We are seeking a caring and approachable Pastoral Assistant to support the emotional and social well-being of students in a secondary school in Oxfordshire. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping young people navigate school life, whether you’re experienced or looking to begin a career in education or pastoral support.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one or small group emotional and behavioural support to students
Support with conflict resolution, attendance, and welfare issues
Build trusted relationships with students to help them feel safe and supported
Work closely with pastoral leads, safeguarding staff, and teachers to address students' needs
Help maintain a positive school environment focused on well-being and inclusion

No formal qualifications required
Previous experience in a school or support role is helpful but not essential
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
A calm, patient, and non-judgmental approach
A genuine interest in supporting young people through challenges
