Job Description
We are recruiting a confident Higher Level Teaching Assistant to step into a semi-lead role within a creative and nurturing Worcestershire primary. As an HLTA, you’ll deliver lessons in the teacher’s absence, support with small-group interventions, and play a vital role in academic planning. You’ll work closely with class teachers to deliver engaging lessons across literacy, numeracy, and topic work, while also supporting pastoral needs. This role is ideal for someone who wants greater responsibility without the full marking and admin demands of a teacher. You’ll be trusted to lead but supported every step of the way.
Job Responsibilities
Lead lessons across EYFS and KS1/KS2 when required.
Deliver targeted small-group interventions.
Support with planning and marking activities.
Foster positive attitudes and independent learning.
Desired Experience
+ Qualifications
HLTA qualification or equivalent experience required.
Confident managing groups independently.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Passion for creative, child-led learning.
About the School
This North Worcestershire school, rated Good by Ofsted, is known for its nurturing ethos and strong emphasis on personal development. Inspectors commend the school for balancing academic structure with free expression — pupils are encouraged to explore ideas through art, storytelling, outdoor learning, and practical projects. Staff collaborate closely, ensuring that no one is left to “figure it out alone.” Families are strongly engaged in school life, helping maintain a caring and community-led atmosphere. If you’re someone who values kindness as much as curriculum, this role will feel like home.
