Job Description

This role is for someone who enjoys being a consistent adult presence for pupils who need extra attention and guidance. As a Key Worker, you’ll support children with additional needs, including SEMH and low-level SEND, acting as their go-to person throughout the day. You’ll combine learning support with pastoral mentoring, ensuring children can access lessons, manage transitions, and feel safe. The role involves close collaboration with teachers, SENCOs, and parents, with flexibility to adapt depending on pupil needs. It’s a highly rewarding role for someone who values relationships, empathy, and steady encouragement.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Act as a key adult for identified pupils
Provide daily pastoral check-ins and ongoing support
Assist in-class with differentiated learning and behaviour support
Encourage independence, resilience, and confidence in pupils
Maintain regular communication with teachers and SENCOs

Desired Experience
+ Qualifications

Experience supporting children in schools or youth settings
Strong emotional intelligence and communication skills
Awareness of SEND and SEMH approaches helpful
Ability to stay calm, consistent, and supportive under pressure
DBS and safeguarding commitment essential
