Job Description

A supportive Coventry primary is seeking a Primary Learning Partner to provide high-quality classroom support and targeted intervention. You’ll work closely with class teachers to make lessons accessible, boost confidence in literacy and numeracy, and encourage pupils to take pride in their progress. The role blends practical help, positive routines, and warm encouragement: guiding small groups through structured tasks, modelling calm problem-solving, and celebrating each step forward. You’ll contribute ideas for engaging activities, help prepare resources, and keep the classroom organised and inviting. It’s a varied position with real purpose — ideal for someone who enjoys seeing their impact daily. You’ll have access to mentoring and CPD, with opportunities to develop specialisms such as phonics, reading fluency, or SEND support as you grow in the role.

Job Responsibilities:
Deliver focused small-group and 1:1 interventions in reading, writing, and maths.
Support whole-class learning, reinforcing instructions and modelling strategies.
Prepare resources, maintain displays, and contribute to smooth lesson transitions.
Track mini-milestones and share timely feedback with the teacher and SENCo.

Desired Experience
+ Qualifications

Level 2 qualification (or strong equivalent experience in a UK primary).
Clear, encouraging communication with pupils and adults.
Calm, proactive approach with genuine enthusiasm for learning.
Willingness to learn school systems (phonics schemes, assessment tools).

About the School

This Good Ofsted-rated Coventry primary is known for its inclusive ethos, creative curriculum, and strong community ties. Leaders prioritise both progress and pastoral care, ensuring pupils feel safe, respected, and motivated to try new things. Staff work collaboratively — sharing planning time, swapping strategies, and mentoring newer colleagues so everyone feels supported. The school’s outdoor spaces and well-resourced classrooms make learning feel active and memorable, while targeted interventions help close gaps quickly and fairly. Ofsted noted pupils’ positive attitudes and the calm, purposeful atmosphere around school. If you want to join a team where teaching assistants are trusted partners in learning — and where your ideas are welcomed — this is a great place to build your career.

Successful applicants will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check via the Disclosure and Barring Service. Our HR and Safeguarding team will be there to support you throughout the process.

But, I don’t want to register with a supply agency, why should I sign up with Milestone?

We get it. Supply agencies can’t always deliver exactly what you’re looking for, but that’s where we’re different…

We’re an education platform service who partner with schools and MATs to support their recruitment, training and wellbeing needs. It’s in our interest to secure you a role you’ll love, in a setting you’ll want to stay in, with a view to progressing your career. If that’s what you want!

Our HR and Safeguarding team consistently go the extra mile to complete your checks as quickly as possible - at no cost to you. To put so much hard work and valuable time into completing these checks and then NOT deliver the opportunities you are looking for…? Well, we’d go out of business pretty quickly!

How much does it cost and how much will I be paid?

Our services to you are completely free.

Costs will only incur if you require a new DBS or OSPC, but don't worry - we can still put you forward for interviews while the applications in process, so you won't miss out on all the exciting opportunities!

All roles are paid in line with Teachers Pay and Conditions, or are matched with each school’s salary guidelines for the role you undertake. We'll always negotiate the best possible pay rates that reflect your hard work, experience and qualifications.
