Job Description
As a Primary Learning Support Partner, you will work closely with Key Stage 2 pupils who need extra guidance to stay engaged, confident, and motivated throughout the school day. You will support children during whole-class teaching, small-group work, and individual tasks, making sure they receive the right level of explanation, encouragement, and structure.
Many of the pupils you assist may have mild learning delays, attention difficulties, anxiety, or gaps in understanding. You will break down tasks into smaller steps, use clear modelling, check understanding frequently, and help children develop strategies to approach learning more independently. Your role is split between academic support and emotional steadiness — ensuring pupils feel safe to make mistakes and keep trying.
Working closely with the class teacher, you will use tailored approaches to strengthen reading comprehension, writing stamina, and numeracy fluency. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys building trust, celebrating small wins, and helping children realise they are capable of far more than they think.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Support pupils during lessons with clear explanations and modelling.
Lead targeted small-group sessions in reading, writing, or maths.
Help pupils manage transitions, routines, and organisation.
Build confidence through positive reinforcement and calm guidance.
Share observations with the class teacher to support planning.
Desired Experience
+ Qualifications
Experience supporting pupils in Key Stage 2.
Confident in delivering literacy and numeracy support.
Warm, patient communication style.
Ability to encourage independence and resilience.
Strong safeguarding awareness.
