Job Description

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys supporting pupils with a wide range of additional needs including autism, ADHD, sensory processing differences and communication challenges. As the SEND Learning Mentor, you’ll work closely with the SENCo, teachers and therapists to implement strategies that help pupils regulate, stay engaged and participate meaningfully in lessons.

You’ll support pupils one to one and in small groups, helping them navigate routines, transitions and learning tasks. You may assist with sensory activities, communication aids, visual timetables and movement breaks to ensure pupils feel grounded and ready to learn. This role suits someone who is calm under pressure, enjoys adapting quickly and takes pride in helping pupils achieve small but important daily wins.

The school welcomes creative thinkers who enjoy using curiosity and empathy to understand how each child learns best. You’ll be joining a team where SEND practice is strong, reflective and rooted in consistent relationships.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide 1:1 and group support for pupils with complex SEND needs
Assist pupils with sensory regulation, communication tools and structured routines
Adapt learning tasks to meet individual needs
Work alongside therapists and SEN staff to deliver personalised plans
Support safe transitions and offer calm guidance during dysregulation
