Job Description
This role focuses on supporting pupils with additional needs who benefit from calm guidance, structured intervention and tailored encouragement. Working closely with the school’s SENDCo and class teachers, you’ll provide in-class support, help pupils understand tasks and promote independence. You may also run short targeted sessions to build confidence, communication or focus. The priority is to create a reassuring presence that helps pupils access learning and daily routines more successfully.
Job Responsibilities:
Support SEND pupils in class to access lessons and stay engaged
Deliver individual or small-group interventions as directed by SEN staff
Help implement EHCP strategies and communicate pupil progress
Encourage independence, confidence and emotional self-regulation
Desired Experience
+ Qualifications
Experience in a school, care, youth or SEND setting
Understanding of autism, ADHD, sensory needs or learning difficulties
Calm, consistent and able to adapt support to each child
Confident working with teachers and following SEND plans
