Job Description
We’re searching for a dedicated SEND Mentor to join a welcoming primary school in North Birmingham. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference each day — supporting pupils with a range of additional needs including autism, ADHD, and social or communication differences. You’ll work closely with teachers and inclusion staff to create learning spaces that feel calm, consistent, and inclusive. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, connecting with children, and helping them build both academic and emotional resilience. You’ll play a hands-on role in delivering support plans, encouraging participation, and modelling positive communication. This is a dynamic, varied position where patience and creativity go hand-in-hand — and every day offers a chance to see real progress unfold.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide in-class and small-group support for pupils with SEND
Promote social and emotional development through positive relationships
Adapt learning resources to suit individual needs
Support behaviour regulation using consistent, trauma-informed approaches

Experience supporting pupils with SEND, particularly in primary education
Calm, adaptable, and empathetic communication style
Ability to follow and implement EHCP or support plan strategies
