Job Description
We are seeking a committed and resilient SEND support worker to join a specialist setting supporting pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You will be working in a structured and nurturing environment, helping pupils to manage behaviours, access the curriculum, and develop essential life skills. This role is suited to someone with experience in SEMH and a genuine desire to support children who need consistent, calm and compassionate guidance.
Key Responsibilities:
Work closely with students in a specialist SEMH setting, offering tailored one-to-one and group support
Use de-escalation techniques and behaviour management strategies to support emotional regulation
Assist in delivering structured learning and developmental activities
Support with transitions, emotional well-being, and building trust with pupils
Collaborate with teaching staff and external professionals to support educational and emotional progress

Team Teach qualification (essential)
Understanding and experience of working with children or young people with SEMH needs
Strong communication and resilience in challenging situations
Ability to work within a structured, therapeutic educational environment
