Job Description
We’re seeking a committed SEND Teaching Assistant experienced in SEMH autism, trauma and emotional / behavioural needs, to work across all age groups in a rural school setting. Due to limited public transport access, you must possess a full driving licence and be confident commuting independently.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide consistent, high‑quality 1:1 support for pupils with SEMH, autism and trauma‑related needs
Adapt and deliver differentiated approaches to help students access the curriculum and learning objectives
Build strong, trusting relationships with students, fostering a nurturing and positive environment
Collaborate with teachers, therapists and support staff to monitor progress and adjust support strategies
Maintain professional standards of behaviour‑management, safeguarding and record‑keeping
Desired Experience

Proven experience working in education or care with pupils who have SEMH, autism or trauma‑related needs
Ability to create a positive, inclusive and nurturing learning environment
Knowledge of the national curriculum and of strategies to support access to learning
Full driving licence and reliable transport (required due to rural location)
Strong communication, adaptability and resilience
