Job Description
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs? Milestone Education is looking for compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to join a school in the B11 area of Birmingham. This full-time role offers stability, career progression, and the opportunity to enhance your skills in SEND support.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintaining attentiveness and staying alert to the individual needs and well-being of students
Supporting and assisting children with special educational needs in the classroom and throughout daily routines
Engaging in classroom activities, including observations, record-keeping, and contributing to lesson planning
Providing one-on-one or small group support as required
Building positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
Assisting with classroom management and behaviour support
Occasionally assisting with opening and closing duties
Desired Experience
+ Qualifications
1-2 years' experience working with children with SEND
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent)
DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
Knowledge of special educational needs and relevant support strategies
Understanding of safeguarding procedures and the confidence to report concerns
A passion for supporting children with SEND, helping them thrive in a nurturing, inclusive environment
