Job Description

We’re looking for a SEND Teaching Assistant to work with pupils aged 5–16 in a Wolverhampton special school. The learners have a range of needs, including autism, developmental delays, and SEMH challenges. You’ll provide in-class support, help with sensory regulation, and encourage effective communication using visuals, signing, or structured routines. Some pupils may require personal care or mobility assistance, which the school will train you to provide if needed. This is a role full of variety — you might be helping with creative tasks one hour and supporting life skills or outdoor learning the next. You’ll be part of a team that values empathy, teamwork, and consistency.

Job Responsibilities
Deliver 1:1 and small-group support.
Assist with sensory and communication strategies.
Promote confidence, safety, and emotional regulation.
Work closely with teachers, therapists, and families.

Experience in SEND, care, or youth work helpful.
Calm, positive, and resilient attitude.
