Job Description
As a Specialist Behaviour Guide, you will support pupils with autism, communication differences, developmental delays and social emotional needs. Your role is centred on building trusting relationships and providing calm, steady guidance that helps pupils navigate the school day with confidence. You will work directly with the SENCo, class teachers and therapeutic staff to implement personalised strategies that focus on regulation, communication and independence.
This role involves guiding pupils through transitions, supporting them during lessons, offering sensory or movement breaks and using visual schedules to help them understand expectations. You may also work with pupils one to one, supporting them in reframing behaviours, building self awareness and practising new routines.
The school prides itself on relational and therapeutic practice, so this position suits someone who believes in understanding behaviours rather than reacting to them. You will be part of a team that values consistency, empathy and long term growth.
