Job Description
We are looking for a Teaching Assistant to support a bespoke Alternative Provision setting in the Coventry/Rugby area. This role is initially for two days per week (6.5 hours per day), with the potential for increased hours over time.
You’ll work closely with the HLTA and wider team to support learners who have experienced trauma and struggle in mainstream education. The provision focuses on PSHE programmes tailored to individual needs, helping young people rebuild confidence, emotional regulation, and readiness to learn.
You’ll assist with learning delivery, support behaviour strategies, and help produce resources that create a safe, structured, and engaging environment.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support delivery of PSHE and bespoke learning programmes.
Assist in developing and adapting learning materials.
Provide emotional and behavioural support for pupils with complex needs.
Work closely with the HLTA and staff on safeguarding and engagement strategies.

Experience working with young people facing trauma or SEMH needs desirable.
Calm, consistent, and patient approach.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Must be willing to travel – driving essential.
