Curriculum + Inclusion Under the New Education Inspection Framework
Curriculum conversations during inspections are already looking different. Inspectors are digging into how knowledge is introduced, revisited, and adapted - and how teaching works for every learner, not just those who pick things up quickly.
A curriculum may look excellent on paper, but the EIF asks whether pupils who face barriers experience it in the same way as their peers. That requires adaptive teaching to be understood, consistent, and clearly connected to CPD. Our training platform, SkillsBridge, helps staff build this confidence through practical strategy-led courses and reflective logs that show what has been applied and why.

Five practical tips to strengthen curriculum + teaching evidence
Link curriculum intent to real learners
Staff should be able to describe how your curriculum works for pupils who need something different.
Use “before and after” reflection
Staff record what they tried, what changed, and what they adjusted next.
Focus on misconceptions
A simple log of common misconceptions shows active curriculum thinking.
Encourage staff to use one adaptive strategy per week
Small, consistent adaptations demonstrate strong implementation.
Create short subject-level snapshots
One page per subject explaining intent, adaptations, and emerging strengths.
If you’re reflecting on how leadership, culture, and staff voice fit into the new framework, our Smart Steps Guide to the New EIF offers a simple structure you can work through with your teams. And if a conversation feels more helpful right now, our Training Partnership Managers can talk you through how CPD can support your next steps.
